World’s First Women Brass Band by CRPF

The 35th raising day of 88th all-women battalions’  celebration took place at the CRPF academy  Gurgaon. On this day Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) inducted women commandos in its anti-Naxal Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) along with that, all Women’s Brass Band was also introduced that makes CRPF the first force in the world to have a Women Brass Band.

This historic moment was announced by Shilpa Bhawana who performed as the master of the ceremony of the occasion. “The force has a history of empowered women warriors who have not just brought laurels to the force but have also made the country proud by conspicuous gallantry both at home in India and abroad in several UN peacekeeping missions. Gender neutrality adds to the diversity of the force empowered women make an empowered family which eventually empowers the nation,” Director General CRPF AP Maheshwari said.

At the event, The Cobra Women Warrior also showcased their combat skills with weapons and extreme condition barriers. This was powerfully worded by Shilpa Bhawana, the announcer. Also, the first women brass band beautifully presented the two musical verses as commanded by Brass Band, Bandmaster Inspector Darshana Kumari. The disciplined tune played by the band was supremely orated by Shilpa Bhawana explaining the importance of a band in force.

CRPF said in a release ‘’CRPF has taken another step towards women empowerment by inducting women commandos on this precious day. These women personnel from CRPF’s 6 Women’s  battalion will go strenuous CoBRA pre-induction training for three months, the coaching can reinforce their physical capabilities and plan of action acumen by conveyance next level coaching in firing and special weapons, plan of action coming up with, fieldcraft, explosives, jungle survival skills. 88th women’s battalion has completed 34 superb years in commission of the state. The battalion has served across the length and breadth of the country and abroad within the global organization peacekeeping missions.

Seven brave hearts of the battalion have created sacrifices at the altar of duty. The women warriors of this battalion square measure proud recipients of many gallantry medals together with the best period gallantry award-The Ashok Chakra.
