The TV Shows/Serials provides a daily dose of entertainment to the viewers. The viewership largely depends on the genre of the show. These can be comic, infotainment, family drama, talk shows etc. telecasted daily, weekly or fortnightly.

The tv shows has their own legacy of more than three decades starting from shows like Hum Log, Buniyad, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Chitrahaar, Karamchand etc. They were the major TV shows produced at the time when the concept of television serials was developing in India and Doordarshan was the only channel for public entertainment. Later on, due to some socio-economic reforms private channels were introduced in the Indian market which increased the demand of both – TV sets and TV serials as well.
