Like films and serials, music videos are short videos entirely based on music. In other words, music videos can be said as the musical representation of a story highlighting the emotions of love, care, passion, and life. These videos can either be a part of an album, a film, or can be singles.

Like feature films, music videos or albums once had their own Golden Era. That is, the 90s. The time when Indie pop flourished and played a significant role in establishing the career of various artists that we see today. The music they offered was soulful, soothing, and lively, which is the reason why 90s kids often keep saying that it was the best music they have ever heard. This is also the reason why some of them keep criticizing today’s music. Every artist had its unique style and every video has its own story. That was the charm of the Golden Era.

Indi pop also gave birth to music channels like MTV India and Channel V and a new class of anchors, famously called VJs, came into the limelight.

The spark of these videos which stormed the music industry suddenly disappeared. Now, we have singles. We have YouTube. Cassettes and CDs got replaced by ‘Views’. But, these singles can never replace the memories and charisma of the Golden Era.
